How to Get the Most Out of Your Farm Experience This Year
There will be numerous changes implemented at Stokes Farm to ensure the safety of both our guests and employees. Maintaining the integrity of America's local food chain - including healthy, immune boosting fruits like strawberries and raspberries - is important to us.
- Hours: 8am-8pm seven days a week.
- No appointments are necessary.
- During our busy times, there will be separate check in and check out areas. We have also set up for additional checkout lines with social distancing in mind. Look for the Picking Starts Here sign. Directions and containers will be given from that location.
- Please use hand sanitizer before entering the field. We encourage you to bring your own to keep handy. We will have sanitizer available if you forget.
- Masks are optional for customers - please do what makes you comfortable.
- Please observe social distancing in any lines - this means stand one small tractor length apart.
- In the field, please stay 20 feet - a tractor and wagon length - apart from other family groups in your row - this would be the distance of a small tractor and wagon. There should be plenty of room for everyone. During busy times we will have a staff member assigned to assisting with field spacing.
- Everyone must use the standard picking containers we have available. Sorry - absolutely no outside containers allowed this year. This will minimize the amount of touches our staff has with containers and will expedite the check in and check out lines.
- We are unable to recycle picking containers this year.
- No sampling or eating in the field.
- Wooden carriers traditionally provided for our guests to carry their picking boxes in are not available as we will be unable to keep them properly sanitized.
- Bathrooms are open and available.
- At check out, we ask that you set your own boxes on and off the scale - one at a time - at the direction of the sales staff. This will minimize contact with your box or fruit.
- Credit card payments are accepted and we are moving to a no signature required system. We accept Visa, MC, Am Ex and Discover. Cash and check are also accepted.
- Grab a blanket and bring a picnic to enjoy!
- While you are here, take a hike through our grassy waterways and along Dutch Creek.
- Join us for fishing on Stokes Lake. For more details see the Fishing FB Post.
- Plan time to check out one of the neighboring farms…like the Alpaca Farm.
Come on out and bring your children or your grandchildren to the farm for a fun filled day of experiencing life in the country, seeing how your food is grown, nibbling while you pick, and taking home lots of yummy, healthy fruit. We do our best to make picking fruit an easy and enjoyable experience for your whole family.
- No fees for parking.
- Children are always welcome on our farm.
Farm Activities
Come spend a day in the country...
Enjoy a picnic in the sun, pick berries, take a hike along the creek or relax with some fishing on our six acre lake which has over a half mile of shoreline.
Picked Fruit - Retail
We try our best to always have picked fruit available if you stop by our farm. However, if you would like to place an order for picked berries to guarantee we set some aside with your name on them, please call 937.317.0074 twenty-four hours in advance.
Recipes and Preparation Tips
There are so many incredible recipes for both raspberries and strawberries! Many of you each year ask for recipes or tips on how to prepare your berries. Check out the link to Stokes Berry Farm Pintrest page for ideas on everything from refreshing salads, luscious desserts, crisp beverages and healthy smoothies. We would love to hear from you all as well if you have a favorite recipe you would like to submit.
Safe Fruit
Nutritional safety is an upmost priority. The use of pesticides on fruit crops has been a highly publicized media topic. Stokes Farm does not use organophosphates on our strawberries, raspberries, blackberries or any other crop grown on this farm. We will not sell you something we don't want to eat!
